Reasons for delaying the Period

Menstruation occurs roughly every 28 days or maybe 29 days, but some can have longer or shorter cycles.

The menstrual cycle can range from 21–45 days and it lasts about 3- 7 days. If your period lasts more than that please check it with your doctor.

  • Sudden starting of a period in a big function or event like a wedding, or examination hall.
  • Condition to avoid migraine and hormonal changes.
  • No attention in the greater work.

  • Excessive menstruation.
  • Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)

Home Remedies that will delay your periods.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

We all know the properties of how ACV helps in getting rid of the fats and toxins from our bodies. But have you ever heard about delaying the periods from ACV?

Well, it works, you can try by diluting a tablespoon of ACV in water and then drink. It will help you in delaying the periods.

Lemon Juice

As you have read the ACV para, where it helps in delaying the periods.

Well, lemon juice also helps in delaying it because it is highly acidic.

Reports tell us that citrus fruits might help in pushing back the bleeding. But we are not sure of it. It also helps you get less bleeding and ease up your period in the cycle.

Lentils

As an Indian, we all love lentils and pulses. We were taught to eat this food as this is rich in minerals.

But you might have not heard that it also helps in delaying the periods.

As pulses are high in minerals, potassium and fiber disrupt the menstrual cycle and even fix the other periodic issues at the same time.

Just fry those lentils up and then grind them into a fine powder-like form. Later you can take lentils in powdered form with a glass of lukewarm water. You can have it like soup.

Gelatin

If you get instant results of delaying the periods, then try out gelatin.

It helps in pushing back the period for about four hours. You can use this remedy for attending a big function or for traveling also.

Researchers are still not being able to know the actual cause for this but drinking high amounts of gelatin have side effects.

So it is advisable to not use this method often.

Avoid spicy food

We all love spicy food but it also triggers the start of bleeding. So it is advisable to stop eating spicy food for some days before your period starts.

Avoid food like chilies, pepper, and garlic.

Exercise

Periods can be delayed by changing your lifestyle habits.

If you start doing some intense workout right before your periods or can make it a habit, it would provide a signal to your brain cells to delay periods.

An intense exercise regime puts stress on the body to act differently that suppress your periods for longer periods.

Papaya

Papaya is one great remedy to bring changes in your uterine blood flow.

The carotene present in the fruit stimulates and triggers the estrogen level of hormones in your body and thus holds up the blood and doesn’t release it.

This is also the reason why pregnant ladies are asked to avoid papayas.

But you can have it as you require to push your period date further. But sometimes it doesn’t work, so please check it and apply.

Parsley Leaves

Parsley leaves are a great source of vitamin B12, vitamin K, vitamin C and also A.

If you leave a couple of leaves in water and consume it twice daily, as it has cooling effects, it will help to deal with the periods and also flush down the toxins from the body.

Mustard Seeds

If you mix two tablespoons of mustard seed into warm water or one cup of warm milk and then drink it.

It will help you delay the periods for a long time. You can try this method as it is effective and can give you instant results.
